Melchizedek Project Portland

The Melchizedek Project educates and inspires Catholic students to consider a vocation to priesthood.  It helps begin discernment groups on college campuses, as well as at Catholic high schools and parish youth groups.

Most Catholic young men lack the in-depth information they need to prayerfully discern a vocation to priesthood.  To help solve this problem, The Melchizedek Project helps form vocation discernment groups.  Each discernment group uses as a guide Fr. Brett Brannen’s book To Save a Thousand Souls: A Guide for Discerning a Vocation to Diocesan Priesthood. (Learn more about the book here…) There is a discussion guide for each meeting corresponding to specific chapters in the book.

The overarching aim of The Melchizedek Project helps men hear the call of Jesus Christ and discover their true vocation.

This Melchizedek Project will meet at Christ the King Parish in Milwaukie, Oregon. Our hope is that young men discerning in the Portland area can meet with us twice a month on Thursday evenings at 6:30 pm. To register and for more information please contact Deacon Dustin Busse at
