Melchizedek Project – For Men in College

Most Catholic young men lack the in-depth information they need to prayerfully discern a vocation to priesthood.  To help solve this problem, The Melchizedek Project helps form vocation discernment groups.  Each discernment group uses as a guide Fr. Brett Brannen’s book To Save a Thousand Souls: A Guide for Discerning a Vocation to Diocesan Priesthood. (Learn more about the book here…) There is a discussion guide for each meeting corresponding to specific chapters in the book. The overarching aim of The Melchizedek Project helps men hear the call of Jesus Christ and discover their true vocation.

This Melchizedek Project will meet at St. Mary’s Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Portland. Our hope is that college age men (18 +) discerning in the Portland area can meet with us twice a month on Friday evenings from 7:00 – 8:30 pm.
